Fluoride treatment is recommended at your 6 monthly dental checkup and cleaning appointment as it can:
- prevent decay that develops on sound tooth structure
- reverse and remineralise initial early tooth decay lesions
The recommended frequency of application of both fluoride varnish and fluoride gels by your dentist, is two to four times per year, depending on your individual risk of decay.
